What Would You Do?
You might have noticed a few posts on here and Facebook about fundraising so I can obtain private medical treatment. Now, this was something I wanted to really avoid. I don’t like the attention and find the idea of asking people for money quite uncomfortable. However, this is a life or death situation…….. or at least it could be.
Then I thought, it doesn’t just have to be about me! Of course in the short term, the money raised is there to help if private treatment is the only way to move forward. But, if the money raised isn’t needed for this, I want to help others. I don’t want to use it for holidays or making memories, I don’t see why other people should pay for me to have fun just because I have cancer……. nope!
So, I’d like to know what you would do? If you had raised some money and didn’t need to use it for private medical treatment, what would you do with the money?
I’ve had a few thoughts on this. Ultimately it comes down to if I want to help lots of people in a little way, or one person in a big way?
I’m airing more on the side of helping lots of people. The aim of this blog is to spread positivity and help people maintain a positive mental attitude during cancer. Wouldn’t it be great to send positivity boxes to people newly diagnosed with cancer. Something they can enjoy on tough days. Filled with little treats and messages of positivity. What do you think?
Or the other option is to donate the funds to an already established charity like Macmillan or Jo’s Trust.
I’d love to hear your thoughts and what you would do 🙂
